Once in a lifetime is a UK Registered Charity No: 1112679 and have had our registered charitable status since January 2006.
Bringing relief of poverty to people who have so little that any help makes a difference, we have achieved this to date by the numerous projects we have successfully accomplished and the difference we have made to many lives has been testament to our vision and we will continue with this work.
We do not use any funding on overheads or expenses other than on our causes and we hope to be able to continue with this principle. This is what is different about our charity. Our entire committee pays their own travel and other expenses as we see it as part of our commitment to our cause.
Once in a Lifetime (www.oialcharity.org) celebrates 20 years of Charity Work and is still going strong.
Over that period of time the charity gave help to the victims of the Tsunami and then moved on to help needy people to improve over 1000 very basic houses, with little or no facilities, built and improved many pre-schools and rural clinics, we also assisted with building works in Children’s and Elderly homes, sunk wells and assisted with electricity connections.
On the medical front we paid for cataract operations, limb replacements and rehabilitation work with wheelchairs and walking aids.
The charity has also sponsored children with schoolbooks, meals, plants, toys, and musical instruments. Recently we have donated hundreds of food packs in a time when families have been finding it difficult to cope with the cost of living and food shortages amongst the many other projects to help the needy in Sri Lanka
Being able to supply the materials for the occupants to complete their homes can only be done with the help of your donations.
Thank you Yvonne & Paul for supplying the Timber & Roofing sheets in order that the occupants were able to complete the repairs to their damaged roof.
