The Tsunami hit many places but affected my family in Sri Lanka, as we were there at the time. We had returned for Christmas, as Ian had not spent Christmas since leaving Ceylon as it then was in the 60's and Marie and I were looking forward to our first Christmas there. Although we had visited at various time of the near, never before at Christmas.
We were so moved by the subsequent events and scenes that Ian decided in January that he wanted to set up a Charity to help the people directly, it was over Coffee back in London when we met Rosemarie and Colin and were discussing our experiences that Colin in that moment decided he was getting involved and was ready to book tickets and would be with us in March – Colin is now a trustee of “Once in a Lifetime” and Rosemarie is a committee member.
