After a couple days rest we drove up into the mountains and visited several past projects including a Montessori School we built in 2010. The Montessori School is still going strong and is in good condition with 22 children and 2 teachers.
We went to visit an elderly Buddhist Priest friend who is now a very aged gentleman in his 90’s. There were quite a lot of hilly climbs but thankfully the temperature was in the late 20’s.
We then drove down to the North Central District of Habarana area. During the last 8 days we have travelled extensively visiting past and future projects and our sponsored families. We have distributed 100 food packs to Villagers. These food packs will last about 10 days and comprise rice, Dahl, sugar, onions, curry powder, powdered milk, chick peas, sugar, noodles, soya meat and a nutritious gram powder.
It has been very hot and the temperature at midday has reached 38 degrees!
In all an exhausting but worthwhile trip and it’s not over yet! So far we have travelled well over 1,000 miles.
